Free use of leisure facilities and access to masseur
decor is a bit drab - could benefit from updating
Peace and quiet and easy access to road system
No fuss, no 'hidden extras', a very calming experience. Friendly staff.
The corridors leading to the rooms could do with a coat of fresh paint.
The staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming and were attentive.
The hotel looked tiered and the carpets and public areas looked dirty and worn. The carpets in the hallways were taped to keep the joins together it looked like a homeless hostel. I think the charges for a room of about £111 pounds for 1 night is outrageous given the condition of the hotel. We booked dinner for 9pm after being told this was acceptable and we were greeted by the dinning staff asking us if we could be quick in making our food order as the resturant was about to close. There was a wedding on in the hotel and clearly wedding guests were intoxicated and the language that we were exposed to in the lounge caused us to go to our room where we sat until bedtime. The pr of this hotel is impressive but the experience feels like a rip off.
Great staff, lovely resturant, fantastic food, clean comfy room
Coridors and public areas need spruceing up, we were given a room that wasn't made up, though rectifide straight away with a free up grade
Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Quiet location
Hotel needs a refurb. Very worn carpets and scuffed walls.Although wi fi is free I could not get a signal.
Attending my brother's wedding I was impressed with the friendly service of the stafff and the facilities in the bedroom.
friendliness of staff, heritage theme of coalmining, spacious room, good location, swimming pool, hiisside view.
The room was a nice size.
It seemed rather empty and so a bit unfriendly as I was travelling alone.
Corridors and reception slightly tired
It's position and proximity to the Rhondda Valleys.
I had my 2 year old daughter with me, and i had a 1st floor room right at the end of the hotel. With 3 - 4 bags to fetch and carry from the car, i had to make 3 - 4 trips with my daughter when it was pouring with rain, i passed reception each time, and not once did anyone ask me if i needed a hand, and there seemed to be plenty of staff about. Also, i would not have spent the full cost of £120 per night for the hotel, though i was happy with the £63 per night i spent.
Friendly, fuss-free - staff were very polite and useful. Very good price and great value.
partially furniture damaged, old & worn out furnishing
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.Loved the 'Loft' where breakfast was served.
Minor points: Filling in the cracks in the bedrooms and ensuring the towels don't still have mascara residue on them. Other that that only that it just wasn't long enough!
Good breakfast, good range of leisure club facilities, very pleasant staff
Nothing specific, just felt it needed some tlc and some cosmetic touches... there were letters missing from the sign, decor in the corridors needed touching up.
